The footballing focus shifts to Champions League tonight as the Spanish Giants Real Madrid take on Bayern Munich in the second leg of the semi-finals. The first leg at the Allianz Arena saw the Los Blancos edging out the home side in a thrilling encounter which ended 2-1 in favor of Real Madrid. Despite of taking an early lead through Joshua Kimmich’s goal, Bayern failed to maintain the momentum and eventually let the game slip out of their hands as goals from Marcelo and Marco Asensio ensured that the Men in White would head into the second leg with a one-goal advantage.
Dani Carvajal might miss this return leg as the right back is still recovering from his hamstring injury which could make way for Nacho to return to the line-up following his recovery from the hamstring injury, he picked up a month ago.
Another possible change for the defending champions might see Marco Asensio replace Isco who suffered a shoulder injury when these two met at Allianz Arena. Isco was not included in the 23-man squad and the fellow Spaniard will seemingly fill that gap in the midfield.
Jupp Heynckes’ side is also facing some major injury concerns as Arjen Robben and Jerome Boateng failed to make it to the 23-man squad after being subbed off last week. Sule would possibly make it to the line up and David Alaba as well could make his return tonight.
Thiago Alcantara who replaced Arjen Robben in the 8th minute of the game could be handed a start tonight as the Dutchman is still recovering from his injury.
Real Madrid walk into the second leg with a one-goal advantage and the home conditions might also be favorable for them which makes the challenge even difficult for the German Champions. Hit by injuries, it is going to be one uphill task for Bayern who need to score at least two goals to stay in contention for a place in the final.
The kickoff time is 6.45 PM GMT and you can watch the game live on Sony Ten 2 and BT Sport 2.
There will also be several online link streams available. Watch out for them on social networking sites !
